FLOWERING PLANTS

rose is a woody perennial of the genus Rosa, within the family Rosaceae. There are over 100 species. They form a group of erect shrubs, and climbing or trailing plants, with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers are large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwest Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and fragrance. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach 7 meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses.
The name rose comes from French, itself from Latin rosa, which was perhaps borrowed fromOscan, from Greek ρόδον rhodon (Aeolic βρόδον wrodon), related to Old Persian wrd-, Avestanvarəda, Sogdian ward, Parthian wâr, Armenian vard.

                                                              CHINA ROSE
The “China rose” is actually a complex of natural and cultivated hybrids that have evolved over more than a thousand years in Chinese gardens. Screen paintings from the 10th century depict a blush China rose identical to Hume’s Tea-Scented China, one of the four China stud roses brought to Europe in the early 19th century. The painting “Allegory with Venus and Cupid” (1529) by the Florentine Angelo Bronzino (1503 to 1572) is the first reference to the China rose known in Europe . The same pink China may also be the subject described in 1678 by Montaigne at the Jesuit Monastery at Ferrara , Italy , said to be in perpetual flower. Several 18th century references to the China rose, from Italy , Sweden , Holland , and England , make clear that Europe was well aware of this relatively new exotic at this time.

                                                      WATER LILI
Aquatic plants are plants that have adapted to living in aquatic environments (saltwater or freshwater). They are also referred to as hydrophytes or aquatic macrophytes. These plants require special adaptations for living submerged in water, or at the water's surface. Aquatic plants can only grow in water or in soil that is permanently saturated with water. Aquatic vascular plants can be ferns or angiosperms (from a variety of families, includingmonocots and dicots). Seaweeds are not vascular plants; rather they are multicellular marinealgae, and therefore are not typically included among aquatic plants. As opposed to plant types such as mesophytes and xerophytes, hydrophytes do not have a problem retaining water, due to the abundance of water in their environment. This means that aquatic plants have less need to regulate transpiration, which would require more energy and be of little benefit to the plant.

                                                             LOTUS
Lotus flowers grow in shallow water. Each stem of a lotus flower has 4 main parts: flower, leaf, root and seeds. Lotuses blossom in white, pink, red and sometimes yellow. Lotus leaves are big and round like elephant ears. Lotus roots grow in sections and they are as great as a fruit or vegetable. Lotus seeds grow in lotus cupules and are green. The lotus seeds must be peeled before eating. The heart in a lotus seed tastes bitter but is cool in nature. It has a calming nature and can be used for tea or herbal medicine.

                                                     GERBERA

Plant taxonomy classifies gerbera daisy flowers as Gerbera jamesonii . "African daisy" is listed as a common name for this plant, since it is indigenous to South Africa. But in North America you're more likely to see an altered version of the scientific name (either "gerber daisy" or "gerbera daisy") used essentially as the plant's common name.
